Question:   What do we mean by the Prayer Depository?  How is it different from a Prayer Chain?

Answer:   The power of prayer remains the same.  On this site, we welcome you to learn more about why you should “bank on prayers”.

Let’s Learn A Little Bit About Tradition:

God will hear our prayers no matter where we are when we pray. At the same time, the Bible teaches that the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is the place where God chose to place His Name for all time. It is one of the only places on earth that He calls "holy".  As they have for centuries, Jewish people continue to place their written prayers in the cracks of the Western Wall in the belief that they go straight to God.

The act of writing prayers on a piece of paper or in a journal and then placing them in a safe spot to revisit and review helps one to focus and gain strength.  Writing prayers becomes a tool that generates internal peace, relief from hardship, and a connection to God.  Words expressed on paper have powerful healing and motivating effects.

 A New Tradition:

We at the Virtual Prayer Group have sought a way to advance traditional religious modes of prayer and enhance daily life through the promotion of prayer.  Therefore, we have developed this dynamic Internet site to help people join together to seek strength, guidance and sustenance.  On our site, we will invite visitors and members to post prayers for themselves and for others.  They can return to see their prayers and the prayers of others in times of need to gain hope, strength and encouragement.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful for a sick relative in a hospital, or in a nursing home, to log in to his or her special prayer page and gain strength by viewing the good wishes and prayers of others?

In addition to this Virtual Prayer Depository, we have created unique, tangible prayer depositories into which one may place a written prayer for safe keeping and later reflection.  We call these depositories the PrayerBank.

PrayerBanksPeople are welcome to give PrayerBanks as cherished gifts as a special way to say, “I care about you!”  The PrayerBank offers religious teachers and parents a unique way to teach their children about the value of prayer.  The PrayerBank also allows journal writers to house their thoughts in a special place.

Fundraisers will love the PrayerBank.  What better way is there to generate support for your religious organization, school, television or radio station, than by offering people the opportunity to make deposits in a PrayerBank.  Special, personalized PrayerBanks for different groups or organizations will make this fundraiser even more successful and valued.
