President’s Message

Dear Virtual Prayer Community Members:

Welcome to the PrayerBank™.com, a web site developed by us for you so that together we could form a Virtual Prayer Community.  I hope you all will feel comfortable to visit and share your thoughts and prayers with the rest of the online community that forms the Virtual Prayer Group.

wpeA.jpg (2749 bytes)Not surprisingly, studies indicate that the primary items researched on the Internet are religion and prayer.  Today more than ever, people yearn for spiritual guidance.  Even in an age of purported material wealth, people retain a void in their lives when they lack a meaningful connection to God and community.

wpeB.jpg (3351 bytes)The purpose of the Virtual Prayer Group is to harness the power of new technologies to permit people to unite in prayer and the praise of God.  It  is an Internet Community devoted to exploring, studying, and sharing issues of faith, religion, and prayer.  On this site, you will find many different avenues to meet your spiritual needs.  First, we welcome you to share your prayers with others, by sending beautiful e-prayer and e-greeting cards to others for free.  Just click onto the PrayerCard section of our site and feel free to send cards to friends, family and colleagues as you wish.  Additionally, the Virtual Prayer Group will offer classes to permit continual learning and spiritual growth.   Keep tuning back in to determine the time of these meaningful classes.

wpe12.jpg (3425 bytes)This site also will permit group prayer through weekly Cyber Seminars.  As technology grows, access to a Virtual Congregation will develop for homebound people and people who want to pray together with others from far-reaching locations.  No longer will physical confines limit the power to share in a weekly prayer service.

wpeD.jpg (2480 bytes)Next, we offer a Virtual PrayerBank™.   This is a place in which you may “deposit” your prayers.  You may find it comforting to write prayers down, to help you make something intangible more real.   Sometimes, you may have prayers that you wish to express online in order to share your love of God, or to release the pain or sorrow you feel.  The PrayerBank™ also creates a place to store them for a time of need, to allow you to reflect on your feelings, or to permit others to share the prayers left for them in the PrayerBank™.

Not everyone has ready access to the Internet, or can log on whenever the time to pray arises.  Therefore, we have created physical PrayerBanks™. These are beautifully created deposit boxes, with religious themes, for personal use, and for use as gifts; they are also terrific fundraisers.

wpeE.jpg (2715 bytes)The little children in my family keep their PrayerBanks™ at their bedsides, next to a notepad.  Whenever they feel a need to express a fear, to praise God, to pray for the health of a loved one, or to make a special request that they do not wish to utter aloud, I encourage them to write their prayers and thoughts on the notepad and deposit it in their PrayerBanks™.   This way, I teach them the value of prayer, of expression, of turning to God in times of need.

wpe10.jpg (3176 bytes)I also use the PrayerBank™ as a method of teaching children the value of charity and sharing with community.  Rather than focusing on toys, fashion, and entertainment, children should be taught the enduring values of faith, commitment and community.  The gift of giving is much more powerful than any material gift.  Therefore, I try to teach the children in my family to pray for others, and to help others by giving them gifts of meaning and spiritual value.   Also, depositing a penny each day in a bank adds up quickly, and the entire PrayerBank™ can be donating as a gift of love to a person or group in need.

In conclusion, I welcome you to join in the Virtual Prayer Community that I have established on this web site.  May God bless you on your journey through life, and may we, in some way, help you on that journey.   Thank you for allowing us to share in your life.

With warm greetings of welcome,

Steve
